Mindset Matters: 3 Ways to Change Your Mindset and Your Life

Change your mindset, change your life

Everyone wants to be successful in life.

We work hard, we eat right, we do all things we feel will make us better people in the long run. But often, we get stuck. We lose our way. The motivation to be great dies as we enter a major funk that threatens to hold us back.

There’s so much more to becoming successful than just working hard.

Humans tend to give up at the first sign of trouble. Sometimes our goals seem out of reach, so we don’t even bother.

Listen, you need to stop settling for the mediocre life. You deserve so much more, yet you need to believe that you deserve so much more.

You deserve peace of mind and a healthy body. You work too hard not to receive that promotion.

Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t – you’re right.

The thing is, the first step to achieving your goals in life is believing you can achieve them. If you have a bad mindset, nothing and no one is defeating you except for yourself. Why would you set yourself up to fail like that?

In this article, I want to share with you some tips to help better your mindset so you can start thinking like a champion today. It’s time for you to give yourself a chance to become successful before counting yourself out.

Tip #1: Don’t Be Afraid of Mistakes

Just about every single discovery ever made in human history came about as a result of people making mistakes. The difference is, they never gave up on their dream or their journey.

Maybe you’ve heard this one before: did you know that Michael Jordan failed to make his high school basketball team? Now he’s known as one of the best basketball players in the world.

Walt Disney was fired from his newspaper job because someone told him he had no imagination and lacked ideas.

Jack Ma created an empire after being turned down by every organization he applied at.

Steven Spielberg was rejected from the film school of his dreams three different times. Now that school has a building named after him in his honor.

In a lot of ways, making mistakes are essential to your growth. It means you get to go back to the drawing board to optimize and better yourself. Just because you didn’t get there now doesn’t mean it’s not worthy to pursue.

Learn from your mistake and try again.

Tip #2: Have Small Achievable Goals

Let’s say you have a lot of weight to lose. Over 100 pounds. Seeing that number written can be quite discouraging. You start to think about how much TIME and ENERGY you’ll have to spend to lose that much weight.  Will it take 6 months?  A year?

Before you know it, you’ve entered the realm of self-doubt. You’re talking yourself out of even trying to reach your goals before you’ve started.

What you don’t realize is, even losing 10 pounds will make you feel much better. A gallon of water weighs about 8.3 pounds, so lift one up and tell me losing that much weight won’t impact your health or how you feel.

Once you’ve reached that goal, which can be done in a decently short amount of time, you can celebrate and have that victory!

Then, you do it again.

And again.

It’s much easier to break tough challenges into smaller bites to have more victories.

Tip #3: Become Inspired

Sometimes, all you need is a kick in the rear end. You need that motivation and drive to kick things into high gear. There’s nothing wrong with that! It shows you’re trying and working hard towards your goals.

If you want to start your own business, rather than focusing on potential failures, try learning, experimenting, stay persistent and find what works best for you. What else? Find a mentor, it will shorten the learning process.

A lot of successful people wake up every day and the first thing they do is read, meditate or train in the gym.  They’re always learning and bettering themselves.

If you can start the day on a good tune and go in supercharged, you’ll be more successful – that comes from inspiration. Self-motivation.

This is in contrast to people who wake up grumpy and defeated, already expecting the day to suck.

If you really think about it, the only one who can defeat you is yourself.

You can always try harder, but if you’re not mentally prepared, you will fail every time.

Don’t defeat yourself before you have a chance to shine.

Change your mindset, change your body.

Change your mindset, change your life.
